Submissions

We would like to invite you to submit articles for our Spring 2012 Issue. We are looking for article that address a legal topic relating to any area of intellectual property. The technical parameters are:

  • Minimum 10 pages double-spaced
  • 12 pt Times New Roman font
  • 1” margins.

Please submit completed article and a cover page with your name and the title of the piece by 5pm EST on Thursday, January 26th to ipbrief@wcl.american.edu. Any questions can also be sent to this e-mail address. Thank you.

Louboutin appeals a trial court’s decision to not enforce protection for his trademarked red soles. The trial court’s decision and the appeal highlight some interesting issues surrounding color trademark protection. The appellate court should not grant Louboutin trademark protection of his red soles because it could impermissibly hurt competition.
